Utah officially in — Scott says no decision yet on divisions

Utah is officially in the Pac-10, and as I write this the press conference continues, prolonged by enough congratulatory fervor to to make a soccer announcer embarassed.
You can find details here.
A couple quick notes from the press conference:
— Pac-10 commissioner Larry Scott said there has been no decision made on divisions or a football championship game. Hard to believe they won’t have a title game. While there have been reports that the divisions have been set, UW AD Scott Woodward also said yesterday that divisions had not been finalized
Said Larry Scott today: “We haven’t decided yet. There’s a process we’ll now go through, working closely with our athletic directors, to dig into those questions — whether to have a championship football game and whether to have divisions.”
The Northwest schools obviously don’t really want to be separated from the LA schools, and that will be the main issue to be sorted out in all of this.
— Scott also said that Utah will join for the 2011-12 academic year, and there’s a chance Colorado will, as well.
— He said a decision on a name change will come soon, though indications are it will just become the Pac-12.
All for now.
