USC sends apology letters to schools it claimed contacted Dillon Baxter, including UW UPDATED

USC has sent letters of apology this morning to five schools that it had claimed had contacted freshman running back Dillon Baxter about transferring in the wake of sactions levied against the school last month.
Washington was one of the those schools that Baxter said contacted him, and as you can read in the story linked above, the Huskies immediately denied contacting not only Baxter, but anyone else on the USC roster (schools can contact juniors and seniors but not underclassmen).
UPDATED (10 a.m.) — UW officials have confirmed this morning that they also got the same letter, effectively putting this matter to rest.
The Pac-10 made it basically unrealistic that any USC junior and senior would transfer to UW or any other Pac-10 school by deciding that transfers would have to sit out a season, and there have been no reports of any USC players looking to come to UW in the wake of the sanctions.
