Monday notes and links — Hundley down to UW and UCLA?

Well, this is certainly getting interesting.
Brandon Huffman, the West Football Recruiting Manager for Scout.com, Tweeted a little while ago that Brett Hundley — the top Class of 2011 QB on UW’s list yet to commit — appears to have narrowed his choices to UW and UCLA and could be making a decision soon.
Hundley, of Chandler, Ariz., visited UW during spring practice and again a little while ago.
If Huffman’s report is true, this could be the most direct and high profile recruiting competition between former UW coach Rick Neuheisel and Steve Sarkisian since each ascended to their new jobs.
Neither school is yet to have a known commit at the QB spot for 2011. UW is thought to popssibly want two QBs in this class as it will have just two scholarship QBs heading into next season with the departure of Jake Locker.
Hundley had also been thought to have Oregon, Arizona and Texas A&M in his top five. Both Oregon and Arizona already have at least one commit for 2011, however, and Arizona also just got a transfer from Ohio State.
IN OTHER NEWS. …
Erin Andrews will join an expanded ESPN College GameDay show. UW is hoping that a 2-0 start will help entice the show to broadcast from Husky Stadium for the Sept. 18 Nebraska game.
— Pre-Snap Read offers five things to like and dislike about UW entering 2010.
— The NCAA is considering a ban on scholarship offers to high school athletes prior to July 1 of their senior year.
— Lastly, the rest of UW’s 2010 freshmen class is due to enroll today for the summer LEAP program. Not expecting any surprise, but will pass along any news later if there is any.
