Three developers submit bids to renovate Husky Stadium

After the passing of the deadline for Requests for Proposals to renovate Husky Stadium last week, the school is now mulling over which one to select.
The school received three RFPs by the deadline of July 14. The 11-person Husky Stadium Advisory Committee will meet this Friday (July 23) to discuss the proposals. It’s possible a decison on which one to recommend could be made then. The school is not at the moment making the three proposals public.
In a significant step, the Athletic Department last week asked the Board of Regents for the power to approve a selection in its own, without needing to get further Board of Regents approval. That permission was granted. So that means anytime going forward, the Athletic Department can reach an agreement with a developer without having to then go back to the Board of Regents for further approval.
You can read here the Athletic Department’s written presentation last week to the Board of Regents. It states that the contract could be awarded on July 30 and finalized in the fall. All other details, such as how much it will cost and when construction might begin or be completed, won’t be finalized until the developer is selected.
