Sunday links

An incredibly beautiful day in Seattle, but I have a few minutes in between some family stuff here to pass along a few links:
— Here’s the Bellingham Herald’s story on Jake Locker’s big day in Ferndale Saturday.
— I missed this the other day but Danny O’Neil covered one of Pete Carroll’s book signings where he confirmed that Steve Sarkisian was offered, then turned down, the Raiders job in 2007.
— Arizona Republic columnist Dan Bickley writes about how the Pac-10 is changing its image.
— Also a couple days old but Jon Wilner wrapped up what the college preview magazines are saying about the Pac-10.
— The San Jose Mercury News also looks at how expansion affects Pac-10 sports other than football.
— The Merc also takes a look at the challenge of aligning the new confernce by divisions (something I would not expect will be settled at the meetings this week).
— Here’s more on something I see has already been discussed here, USC”s somewhat controversial hiring of Kennedy Pola as running backs coach. (Reminds me that Pola was basically signed, sealed and delivered to be part of UW’s staff with Rick Neuheisel in 2000 before ending up at USC).
— Pre-Snap Read rates UCLA No. 40 in the nation and has this preview (after earlier rating UW No. 54).
Jeremiah Masoli may be headed to Ole Miss.
All for now.
