Butler out for season, and a couple other notes

Sad news out of San Diego today as former Husky LB Donald Butler will be out for the season after suffering an Achilles injury yesterday. Here’s more from the San Diego Union-Tribune.
Butler had recently signed a four-year contract that included a signing bonus of more than $800,000.
IN OTHER NEWS. …
— ESPN.com’s Ted Miller says UW is in good shape at linebacker.
— Pretty good analysis from the WSU Football Blog on the value of returning starters.
— Here’s more on Shaquille Richardson, one of the other players booted by UCLA along with Josh Shirley, ending up at Arizona.
— Interesting story out of the Bay Area quoting Cal coach Jeff Tedford saying he’s going to lighten up a little bit this season and try to make football more fun for his players.
All for now.
