Saturday night links — previewing the Huskies, and Seferian-Jenkins talks about Texas visit

Less than 48 hours now to the start of UW’s football practice, and I tried to provide an overview for readers in Sunday’s paper with this position-by-position breakdown of the Huskies.
I included a comfort rating for each position, and you are more than free to disagree. Mostly, I just tried to give a sense of which positions appear stronger than others heading into camp. Soon (though not soon enough) we won’t have to speculate about all of this anymore but will have some actual results.
IN OTHER NEWS. …
— Sad news for former Husky Isaiah Stanback, who is out for the year after suffering an Achilles injury during the Seahawks’ practice Saturday (and a day before the team is scheduled to practice at Husky Stadium). It’s a similar injury to that suffered earlier this week by former UW LB Donald Butler that also knocked him out for the season.
— Scout.com has a free story recounting the thoughts of Gig Harbor tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins following his trip to Texas. He says he still has his choices down to UW and Texas and will make an announcement Aug. 16.
— Former Husky Curtis Shaw has enrolled at Sacramento State and will be immediately eligible to play there this season.
— The Deseret News has five questions with Steve Sarkisian, mostly dealing with Utah-BYU-related issues.
— The Orange County Register has an interesting comparison of Rick Neuheisel and Lane Kiffin.
All for now.
