Some audio and links

First, wanted to point out a couple of audio appearances I’ve made in the last day or so.
I’ll start with this podcast on the fine blog of our columnist, Jerry Brewer. You can try to fast forward through Jerry and Danny O’Neil’s ruminations on the Mariners to get the good stuff, where they grill me on all things Husky.
As Brewer notes, he tried to pin me down on how many games UW will win this season. He also asked me what Steve Sarkisian has to do better in year two to take the Huskies to the proverbial next level. I’ll let you listen for the answer I gave, though I will say that if I had more time to think about it, I might say that continuing to improve the talent on both lines would be the long-term issue Washington needs to address to return to elite status (realizing that’s nothing earth-shattering there, but football is really pretty simple at its core — if you can push the other guy around consistently, you are going to win consistently).
— I also was on KJR-AM this morning with Steve Sandmeyer and Hugh Millen, one of two former NFL QBs who attended UW’s practice yesterday (some guy named Joe something-or-other was also there). You can find the link here under the Mitch in the Morning section.
— Also, I will be a guest tonight on the blogtalk radio show of Ryan Pettit and Travis Loucks at 8:30 a.m. You can access it here, and you can also call in for questions at 1 (646) 727-1981.
Would you like to be on the show, Wed at 8:30 p.m. I fully understand if you can’t fit us in right now, but thought I would ask.
IN OTHER NEWS. …
— I was asked if there will be a significant scrimmage on Saturday. I don’t know yet, though it’s a good bet there will be one on that day, with Sunday a day off for Picture Day. But I will ask and post that info when I get it.
— SI.com looks at 10 trends it predicts will define college football in the next decade.
— SI.com’s Stewart Mandel addresses why the Pac-10 had just two teams in the Coaches Poll.
— The Sports Network picks UW to go 7-5 this season.
All for now.
