Friday questions, volume one

I’ll try to knock off as many as I can:
Q: Losing Will Mahan to injury, makes me wonder which other key positions have a big drop off if we lose the starter. Obviously Jake Locker, Erik Folk or Mason Foster would be huge. What other positions do you think would be key losses with untested or unheralded backups?
A: Left tackle might be next on that list as that would either mean going with true frosh Erik Kohler — never ideal no matter how talented the player may be — or reshuffling the line to get someone else there.
Q: What recruits will be taking their official visits to UW this weekend?
A: Scout.com reports there will be two — cornerback Stefan McClure of Vista, Calif. and linebacker Kentrell Brothers of Guthrie, Ok.
Q: The no-huddle offense seems to give an offense a huge advatage. Why don’t more teams run it?
A: Of course, it doesn’t work so well for Washington State. Like any system, it works if you have the personnel, it doesn’t if you don’t. And if you have really good personnel, just about any system might work. I don’t think the no-huddle is any more assurance of success than any other system.
Q: Are there any tickets available for tomorrow’s game? How much would they cost?
A: There are lots of tickets left as they expect a crowd in the 62,000 range tomorrow. Full ticket info can be found here.
Q: Regarding recruiting for the incoming class of 2011, have any of the uncommitted players that UW has offered set decision dates?
A: I haven’t heard of any.
More later.
