Quick press conference notes

Steve Sarkisian’s weekly press conference has concluded. Here are a few highlights:
— Sarkisian says the only player questionable due to injury this week is Johri Fogerson (excluding guys already out for the year, obviously). He said Cort Dennison and James Johnson are each improving and should be back. Dennison attended the press conference and said he’s good to go.
— Sarkisian said he feels the team’s pysche is good again after the bye week. “They are chomping at the bit to get back and show what they are capable of doing,” he said.
— Sarkisian called USC “the most talented football team in the conference, top to bottom.”
— He tried to downplay the reunion with Lane Kiffin as well as his return to USC. Sarkisian noted he makes it back to the LA area often for recruiting and other purposes and of Kiffin, noted that neither of them are playing this week.
— He said Jake Locker worked during the week on refining his footwork and making sure his feet are set before throwing, something they decided was at the root of his accuracy issues against Nebraska. “He came back and had a great week of work,” Sarkisian said. “He wants to get back going again.”
— He said Erik Kohler will again start at left guard and that he hopes to also get more time for Kevin Smith and Zach Fogerson on offense this week.
— Sarkisian said there was a “big emphasis” on kickoff coverage last week and that the key points were getting guys in the right spot and that then “you’ve got to tackle.”
I’ll have more complete quotes later.
