Sunday afternoon notes, links — Stanford favored by 6.5

Back from Tucson, and I’ll try to catch up on a few usual day-after items in one entry:
— First, the early line for next week’s home game against Stanford has been posted at 6.5. UW is now just 2-5 against the spread, and the 6.5 points would be the largest spread against the Huskies in a home game this season.
In other Pac-10 games next week:
Arizona is an 8.5-point favorite at UCLA;
Oregon State is a 3-point favorite over Cal at home;
Arizona State is a 21-point favorite over Washington State at home;
and Oregon is a 7-point favorite at USC.
— The Arizona Daily Star’s coverage is here. Most notable — a report card and the game story that mostly focused on Matt Scott’s day.
Anthony Gimino writes that Scott said later that “we really had them confused all game.” He also has this look at how the UA defense stopped the Huskies all game.
— Here’s a link to some UA player interviews as well as Mike Stoops’ post-game comments.
— Stanford beat WSU pretty easily yesterday but wasn’t too happy about the way it played, so sounds as if there may not be a chance of a letdown for the Cardinal coming to Seattle.
— Yesterday didn’t do much to help any of Washington’s stats, especially on defense. UW is 104th nationally, out of 120 teams, in rushing defense (202.71), 98th in total defense (424.00), 102nd in scoring defense (33.14), and 91st in pass efficiency defense. UW is also 53rd in total offense at 394.57, but just 76th in scoring offense at 24.86. UW doesn’t rank higher than 50th in any statistical category.
All for now.
