Friday links. …

Links put together while listening to the KJR-AM handicapper Greg Roberts pick games on the Mitch in the Morning Show. Alas, he didn’t use his pet phrase, “they’ve got the wrong team favored” when it came to the UW-Oregon game (in fact, he predicted a second straight shutout loss for the Huskies).
— Here’s my story for today’s paper, wrapping up some of what UW coach Steve Sarkisian has said this week about the state of the program.
Bud Withers picks Oregon, 48-16 and also has his weekly college football notebook.
— Jon Wilner says he thinks Oregon may cover by halftime.
— The Eugene Register-Guard has a Thursday practice report and injury update on the Ducks (not that there are many).
— The Oregonian has video of Chip Kelly after practice and also notes that Kelly had no thought of running the scout team in practice this week (ala Sarkisian) and also wonders if LaMichael James’ Heisman hopes were helped by the news coming out of Auburn.
— The RG’s George Schroeder columnizes on the return of UO running back Kenjon Barner.
— ESPN’s Greg Biggins has an update on Long Beach Poly LB Corey Waller, one of the top targets left on Washington’s board. Waller is also considering Boise State, USC and Oregon and says UW is “still way up there.” He also said that “I know Washington is struggling but I like the coaches and I think they’re capable of turning things around.”
Ted Miller examines the decrease in heat in the UW-Oregon rivalry of late.
— Writers for the UW and Oregon student papers debate the game and make picks.
— LuckyLester says the Huskies will be lucky if they lose only 50-6.
All for now.
