Sarkisian on conference call: No final word yet on Locker

Not much new from UW coach Steve Sarkisian on the Pac-10 coaches conference call today.
Sarkisian was asked about Jake Locker and said that there had “not yet” been any final word from the medical staff on whether Locker will be cleared to play against UCLA Thursday. But he added that “I’m sure we will here by practice time. But we have not yet (gotten it).”
UW will be on the field later this afternoon for its last full practice prior to the game, what will be a usual Thursday workout.
He was asked again about the “blackout” for the UCLA game and said “we thought it would be a nice change up and a nice way to close out the home careers for the seniors, to give them something special to walk out the door with.”
He also said that UW has had “a really good week-and-a-half of work” and that he hopes the defense can replicate the way it played for the first two-and-a-half quarters against Oregon.
“I’m excited to go see our defense play again Thurday night against UCLA,” he said. “I’m anticipating us playing the same brand of football.”
He added that he thought that for “into three quarters our defense played a physical, fast game” against Oregon and that he hopes that carries over against the Bruins.
