Tuesday night notes — UW AD Woodward gets a new contract, and more

A few links before calling it a night. …
— In case you missed it, here’s our story tonight on a new contract given to UW athletic director Scott Woodward in September. It will bind him to UW through June 30, 2015. One thing that didn’t make it into the story is the buyout. If UW fires him he it would him him three years of his base salary or whatever is left if there is less than that remaining. If Woodward leaves for another AD job, he has to pay $50,000, less 20 percent each year of the contract (so $40,000 if he left with four years remaining, etc.); if he leaves for a non-AD job, he owes $25,000, less 20 percent each year.
— And here’s our story on Jake Locker being cleared to play Thursday against UCLA.
— Speaking of which, here’s a practice report from UCLA, including a quote from Rick Neuheisel that the public uncertainty over whether Locker would play this week was “the biggest joke of all time.”
— ESPN.com’s LA bureau also has a UCLA practice report.
— Some interesting stuff from Sarkisian during an interview today on ESPN 710 Seattle.
— The LA Times notes that UCLA has had success playing in bad weather under Neuheisel.
— BetFirms.com says to take the Bruins. So does CappersPicks.
