UW’s Lopez makes Pac-10 All-Academic Team; Aiyewa, Sylvester on second team

The Pac-10 All-Academic Team was released this morning and the first team includes UW’s Brendan Lopez, the team’s long snapper.
He was the only Husky on the first team. Lopez, a Bellevue High grad, has a 3.68 GPA in Microbiology.
Two UW players were named to the second team — LB Victor Aiyewa (3.17 in Sociology) and FB Austin Sylvester (3.07 in History).
Named honorable mention were LB Cort Dennison, OL Drew Schaefer and PK Erik Folk.
To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant substitute.
