On a morning like this, with the weather still frightful — and the roads even moreso — hard for the Huskies not to dream of spending the Holidays somewhere warm like San Diego (that’s Qualcomm Stadium, home of the Holiday Bowl, pictured at the right).
And the bowl game chances for both UW and Cal were a popular topic for stories opening the week in both locales. Here’s my story wrapping it up while Jon Wilner chipped in with this from the Cal end as did Jake Curtis.
Now all one of the two teams has to do is win this weekend, the increasingly hard part about getting to a bowl.

— The Eugene Register-Guard notes some key Pac-10 underclassmen may have some tough decisions to make about whether to return and also rates UW No. 7 in its weekly power ratings.
