As I type this at about 11:15 a.m. it is beginning to rain pretty heavily — and we can feel it here in what is the Pac-10’s only open-air press box. All we have over our heads is at tarp, and my computer is getting a little damp.
The first picture is the outside of the stadium as we walked in. This is the last game being played here before the renovation, and there is already lots of visible construction going on outside, so it was a little bit of a scramble just to get in here today.
Frankly, it’s the getting-here part of this stadium I wish they could renvoate. The parking and all of that is a little convulted here, and we have to walk quite a ways or take a shuttle, which isn’t necessarily a complaint, just an observation that it’s different than most places in the Pac-10. But I don’t think there are a lot of options given the logistics around here.
The other pictures are the field as we walked into the stadium, and the press box.
Every other time I’ve been here the weather has been great, so this will be a new experience — and you would think that the rain would make it only more imperative to get the running game going.
The UW PR staff reports that there is nothing really new in terms of personnel. Anthony Boyles is again not on the trip, but that’s apparently about it if healthy scholarship players who might have made it.
And as I finish this, the Huskies are taking the field in their all-whites.
It is also beginning to rain even harder, maybe similar to the ASU game at home or something.
