Polk named Pac-10 Offensive Player of the Week

No surprise here as UW running back Chris Polk was named today as the Pac-10’s Offensive Player of the Week after rushing for 284 yards — second-most in Husky history — as Washington beat WSU 35-28 to win the Apple Cup and clinch a bowl berth.
It’s the first such honor for Polk and he is the second UW offensive player honored this year as Jermaine Kearse got the nod after the Syracuse win. Kicker Erik Folk also was honored after the USC game as a special teams winner.
Polk finishes the regular season with 1,238 yards, second in the Pac-10 to the 1,682 of Oregon’s LaMichael James.
Arizona State DE James Brooks and PK Thomas Weber were named as the defensive and special teams players of the week. Mason Foster (defense) and Kiel Rasp (special teams) were also nominated.
