Tuesday morning links — What will UW players get in their bowl gift bags? And more

Day three of Washington’s new-found status as a bowl participant dawns with all kinds of interesting stories, maybe none moreso than this piece in the Sports Business Journal on the bowl gifts that participating players receive.
And here’s the complete list showing that the Holiday Bowl players will get a Best Buy gift card, a Fossil watch and a hooded sweatshirt. As the story states, the bowls award the packages to 125 participants per school, so that would easily cover all scholarship and walk-on players at UW. As it also states, the schools can then buy their own gifts of up to $350 (I’ll check and see if UW is doing that).
All part of the allure of being in a bowl.
