Friday morning notes and links — Recruiting, Senior Bowl and more

As Howard Cosell might have said, a veritable plethora of notes and links for a Friday morning. … —

— The folks at UWTV have confirmed that they will be televising Steve Sarkisian’s signing day press conference on Wednesday at noon. It’s Channel 27 throughout the state (more details here). is reporting that UW’s visitor list for this weekend is up to four — the previoulsy committed Marvin Hall (WR-DB, Dorsey High in LA); walk-on QB Thomas Vincent of King’s; and new additions LB Nick Holt of Seattle Prep (and yes, son of the coach) and DB Kendrick Van Ackeren of Bellevue. Other than Hall, none are listed as having offers and could be exploring walk-on opportunities, though Van Ackeren has made a commitment to Hawaii.

— has an informative recruiting Q-and-A, predicting Jacoby Brissett goes to either Wisconsin or Miami and also addressing why UCLA has struggled.

— The Palm Beach Post has a blog item on Brissett (though no new news).

— has another wrapup of some of the conflicting views on Jake Locker’s week at the Senior Bowl.

— The Monterey Herald has a nice feature on Mason Foster, noting that he plans to return to school in the spring to get his degree and walk at graduation.

—’s Ted Miller exmaines whose stock is up or down of Pac-12 players at the Senior Bowl.

— For those wondering what happened to one-time UW commit Elijhaa Penny, he has committed to UNLV.

— Finally, reports that Washington has been among the “top-searched college football programs in advance of Signing Day.” Here’s the list:
