Williams, Seferian-Jenkins named to Best in the West list

The last Sunday before letter-of-intent signing day also means the release of one of the more traditiona-laden recruiting lists, the Long Beach Press-Telegram Best in the West list.

Here it is, and as you can see, UW has two players on the first team — Skyline WR Kasen Williams and Gig Harbor TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins. (Here’s the story that explains the list).

Two other UW commits are on the honorable mention list — OL Paulay Asiata of Honolulu and DL Danny Shelton of Auburn. RB Bishop Sankey of Gonzaga Prep and CB Kameron Jackson of Long Beach Poly are on the “also receiving votes” list.

Also as part of the package is the list of the selection committee and a look at the Class of 2012.

Also out today is the Tacoma News Tribune’s Western 100. The TNT also offers a story on how the recruiting battles may change in the new Pac-12.

IN OTHER NEWS. …

— Yahoo.com’s Doug Farrar offers an analysis of the Senior Bowl. FoxSports.com offers a harsher assessment of Jake Locker.

— Nothing new here on his decision, but the Orlando Sun-Sentinel had a story today on Jacoby Brissett.
