Monday morning news and notes

First off, a reminder of our live chat Wednesday at noon with UW coach Steve Sarkisian. You’ll be able to access it here and on the Times’ home page.

For now, a few other notes. …

— Just in case you were wondering, Jacoby Brissett signed his letter with Florida today, according to his coach, Jack Daniels (and I’ll miss typing that name).

— UW signees Josh Perkins and Siosifa Tufunga were named to the Long Beach Press Telegram football Dream Team first team over the weekend (this is not to be confused with that same paper’s Best in the West list, which ran last week). One-time UW commits Kameron Jackson and Elijhaa Penny are also on the list.

Dawgman.com reported over the weekend that UW has added two preferred walk-ons in DL Ben Teichman and OL Ross Dolbec of Miramonte High in Orinda, Calif. Teichmann, of San Ramon Valley High in California was named a First-Team DL on the All-East Bay Team by the Contra Costa Times and to the San Francisco Chronicle All Metro second team defense. Dolbec was named to the second team.

— With a few other commits finalized for other schools over the weekend, the recruiting rankings shifted a little bit. UW fell to No. 23 nationally and fifth in the Pac-12 by Scout.com, but remained 23rd and fifth by Rivals.com. I listed all of UW’s ratings going back to 2002 a couple days ago.

— No new news here, but ESPN.com’s Adam Ritrenberg examines the future of former Michigan QB Tate Forcier, who apparently has UW on his list of potential new schools.

— UCLA is still searching for a defensive coordinator after an attempt to lure Seahawks assistant Rocky Seto fell through.

— Good debate here from ESPN.com’s Ted Miller and Andrea Adelson on how well Utah will adapt to the Pac-12. UW plays at Utah next Oct. 1.

And a quick note on plans for the blog — with a little lull in college football (in between LOI day and spring football) the pace here will slow a lilttle bit. But I have a few set plans for things like season reviews/previews at all positions, and a couple other items, and as always we’ll keep up with the news.

All for now.
