Pac-12 talks about reorganization of football officials

Well, you can’t say the new Pac-12 administration isn’t trying when it comes to improving its football officiating.

I spent much of the afternoon working on this story that talks about what the conference has planned to try to better its football officiating.

What will probably grab the most notice is that the conference did not renew the contracts of 11 officials, and hired 16 new ones from the Big 12, WAC and Mountain West conferences.

The story also includes details about lots of other changes to the conference’s officiating program. Again, this is all for football, though it’s possible some similar changes are coming for basketball down the road.
