Saturday morning update — Huskies hit field again today, and Locker said to be impressing in workouts

As I type this, it’s sunny out, if not exactly clear. Overall, though, looking like a decent day for a football practice as UW is set to get on the field at 11 a.m. for workout number six of 15 this spring.

The practice is expected to include some 11-on-11 sessions, but will not necessarily be a full-scacle scrimmage, according to what Husky coach Steve Sarkisian said on Thursday.

We’ll have our usual report later. Until then, here are a few other notes and links. …

—- Sounds like the Jake Locker pendulum is beginning to swing back around his way, as
Rob Rang
of NFLDraftScout.com reports that Locker had excellent workouts recently with the Vikings and Seahawks, and may not make it past Minnesota’s pick at No. 12.

— CoachSark’s site has some video of UW’s Pro Day last week as well as his top five from Thursday’s practice.

Chris Polk and Jermaine Kearse were each named to the GoDaddy.com pre-season All-American team honorable mention list.

— CollegeSportsMatchups.com picks UW third in the Pac-12 North next year.

Vince Grippi of the Spokesman-Review has a roundup of links around the conference.

— This is a premium story, but ESPN.com’s Bruce Feldman lists both Jeff Lindquist and Cyler Miles among the top five QB recruiting battles for the Class of 2012. Both are UW targets, Lindquist from Mercer Island and Miles from Denver.

All for now.
