Afternoon links — More on Locker, good TV news and more

Remember that the Huskies are off today — they’ll return to the field tomorrow (Thursday) at 4 p.m.

So for now, here are a few other items:

— Here’s the latest in the Gatorade series of videos detailing some of Jake Locker’s preparation for the draft. This one deals specifically with his work with former NFL QB Ken O’Brien.

— The Big 12 has reportedly reached a new deal TV rights with Fox worth $1 billion over 13 years. And this is simply more apparent good news for the Pac-12 as it continues its own negotiations. As the story details, the Big 12’s new deal far exceeds what the Big 12 had been getting, and is likely greater than what people thought the conference would get a year ago when it dropped to 10 teams. As George Schroeder of the Eugene Register-Guard just Tweeted, this seems to indicate that the Pac-12 is “about to get PAID.” Here’s the official announcement on the deal, and it’s easy to surmise this is along the lines of what the Pac-12 may be looking for, as well.

— CBSSports.com has a good overview of some new NCAA rules proposals related to football. Specifically, programs may be able to add two additional graduate assistants in 2012.

— Here is CoachSark’s Top Five from Tuesday’s practice (I’m waiting — probably forever — for the day he adds “best question from the media” to his list).

— ESPN.com’s Ted Miller has a good look at Cal’s continuing, and surprising, struggles at QB during the Jeff Tedford era.

All for now.
