I’m headed off to Washington’s Spring Game, the last of 15 spring practices the team will hold this year.
To answer a question a few of you have asked, there is no coverage of it on TV or on-line. The only live coverage is the radio broadcast on KJR-AM. There is also no delayed on-line or TV broadcast.
Yes, there have been varying degrees of coverage through the years — live, delayed, on-line. But none this year. So if you want to see it, head out on out to the stadium for the 11 a.m. kickoff (at the moment, the weather looks like it could be okay).
Players will be available on the field for autographs afterward, as well.
As noted earlier, the format will be to split into two teams — essentially, the No. 1 offense and No. 2 defense against against the No. 2 offense and No. 1 defenses (so the ones are going against each other, and then the twos). There will be four 15-minute running quarters, with stoppages in the last two minutes and change of possession. And there will be no live tackling on special teams.
Also, you’ll see a limited selection of UW’s offense and defense as they desire to keep a lot of things under wraps from opponents (kind of like going to see The Who and seeing them play only Quadrophenia).
I’ll do the usual live game thread here, however, and have full coverage afterward.
