Monday night notes

A few notes to pass along. …

UPDATE 9:30 — Interesting stuff tonight from Jon Wilner on the Pac-12 TV negotiations, with his sources indicating it could be done in 10 days or so.

NOW TO THE ORIGINAL POST. …

— First, our story on the tragedy involving the family of UW recruit Danny Shelton has been updated.

— In more mundane football news, Jake Locker said today he knew the Titans liked him, but weren’t sure they’d take him at No. 8. That goes along with the rumor that made the rounds in the days preceding the draft that the Titans initially thought they may be able to trade down and still get Locker but by the day of decided they couldn’t risk it.

— The Titans are making it clear they hope to sign a veteran to play this season so they can ease Locker into the lineup.

— ESPN.com’s Ted Miller examines which Pac-12 players may be NFL prospects in 2012.

— The Oregonian has an interesting story on the different approaches throughout college football to selling beer on gameday.

— Pre-Snap Read lists Keith Price as one of 10 QBs under the microscope as first-year starters in 2011.

— Finally, in the self-promotion department, I was on KPUG in Bellingham earlier today talking about UW football, and I’ll be doing that again tonight around 8:34 p.m. on KJR-AM with Elise Woodward.
