It may be the heart of the off-season, but it feels like there’s a lot percolating in college football, so let’s chat today at noon.
Until then, a few links. …
— I wrote this story for today’s paper attempting to give an early overview of UW’s recruiting efforts to date. I’ll elaborate on some of this in a later blog post.
— The Sporting News reports that Jake Locker will head to Nashville for informal workouts with other Titans players next week.
— I linked a lot of USC stuff earlier, so won’t do much more of that here. However, to answer one specific question, the Pac-10 ruled last year that it would not allow USC players who opted to transfer without penalty to do so within the conference (here are the details on that from a year ago). I assume this remains the rule. Ivan Maisel points out that not a lot of players used that ruling to leave last year.
— That said, here’s another good overview of the situation worth passing along from ESPN.com’s Pac-12 blog.
— Former Husky DE Caesar Rayford is now playing for the Utah
Blaze in the Arena Football League, and Utah’s game with Iowa will be televised live on the NFL Network Friday at 5 p.m.
— Tony Barnhart of CBSSports.com has some interesting thoughts on the further divide that might be coming in college sports.
All for now.
