We’ll begin the morning links with news of a trio of UW 2011 signees performing well in state/regional track meets.
First, Auburn High’s Danny Shelton, an incoming DT, won the shot put at the state meet Thursday with a toss of 60 feet, one inch.
Incoming WR Marvin Hall, meanwhile, helped Dorsey win the LA City Section 1,600-meter relay Thursday (he’s featured in the photo that accompanies the story).
Finally, incoming CB Marcus Peters won the Oakland Athletic League 100 and 200. (Added this one after initial posting).

— ESPN.com’s Mark Schlabach gives UW’s football program a three on a rating scale of 1-5 of overall health, signifying the team has struggled in recent years but appears to be on the rebound.
— Athlon Sports held a college football fantasy draft the otherr day, and three Huskies were taken — one a bit of a surprise. As might be expected, Chris Polk was selected in the third round and Jerrmaine Kearse in the eighth. But one team owner took a bit of a gamble and selected Nick Montana in round 15.
— The LA Times reports no USC seniors are expected to transfer. And by the way, it has been confirmed that the rule remains in place that they would not be able to transfer within the Pac-12 Conference.
— Rivals.com looks at whether recruiting ratings have any merit.
— The Orlando Sentinel assesses how the Pac-12 may change the college football landscape.
— Interesting stuff on UCLA’s QB situation from an interview Rick Neuheisel gave the other day.
