Tuesday links — Williams, Aiyewa waiting

Back from the Holiday, and we’ll start with our story today on a couple of guys who would like to not be on something of a holiday — Victor Aiyewa (above against Syracuse in a Dean Rutz photo) and Nate Williams.

As the story notes, the two former Huskies are stuck in limbo due to the NFL lockout, which prevents teams from signing undrafted free agents. Usually, players such as the two would have already signed deals and would be preparing for a camp. And at least those who were drafted can feel some sort of long-term certainty about their situations. But Williams and Aiyewa can do nothing right now but wait and do what they can to stay in shape and be ready when the time comes.

IN OTHER NEWS. …

Kirk Bohls of the Austin American-Statesman says Ohio State could do a lot worse than hiring Steve Sarkisian. (And it should noted, this is simply a blog item of a couple of guys talking, and not a report or a rumor or anything of the sort).

—- TheGreek.com lists UW as plus-300 to win the Pac-12 North behind Stanford and Oregon, and plus-800 to win the conference.

— Rivals.com lists Hawaii QB Bryant Moniz No. 88 on its rating of the top 100 college players in 2011. UW hosts Hawaii on Sept. 10.

— USC got a commitment from a linebacker this weekend that UW was also pursuing.
