Pac-12 meeting in Seattle this weekend

If you think you see someone looking like Pac-12 commissioner Larry Scott walking around downtown Seattle this weekend, it may indeed be him.

The conference is holding meetings this weekend in Seattle (today and Saturday, specifically) with conference officials, CEOs (presidents, chancellors, etc.), athletic directors and senior women’s administrators among those in attendance.

These are regularly scheduled spring meetings that rotate around the conference. And
the official word is that no big news is expected and no significant votes, so you may not see much of anything in the media about these meetings. They are expected to consist largely of review of the past year and planning for next year.

Sounds as if there may be some meetings with potential partners for the conference’s TV network, but no resolution on that front is expected for a little while.

Interestingly, however, these would likely have been the meetings when the TV deal announced last month in Phoenix would have been finalized — and possibly the announcement here in Seattle — before circumstances changed and the agreements were completed earlier than expected.
