We’ll start with about the only thing I see out there today on UW, this note from ESPN.com’s Ivan Maisel that former Husky coach Don James recently had surgery for skin cancer but is on the mend.

Maisel also notes that James says he senses a lot of excitement about the UW program right now in Seattle.

IN OTHER NEWS. …

— Washington is included in a recap by ESPN.com’s Ted Miller of the site’s look at college programs in NFL towns.

— The Oregonian with everything you’d want to know about what’s happening at Oregon. Still unclear is if there is a specific NCAA rule that has been violated.

Jon Wilner with some thoughts on Oregon and a few other college-related items.

Phil Steele examines which teams he thinks can go 12-0 or 11-1 this season, a few of which are UW opponents.

All for now.
