Monday afternoon links

We’ll step away from our look back at UW’s Pac-10 run for a few links of more current vintage. …

— Dr. Saturday puts both Josh Shirley and Sean Parker on his honorable mention list of 2011’s new defensive stars.

— ESPN.com’s Ted Miller puts UW in the “we’ll see” category in assessing Pac-12 tight ends, making the valid point that while the Huskies have a lot of potential at that spot, it’s best to wait until the players prove it on the field before proclaiming anything.

— Eye-catching story out of Arizona today as former ASU WR Kerry Taylor has reportedly Tweeted that Sun Devil coach Dennis Erickson is not the right man for the job there. That may go a long way toward explaining why his younger brother, Kendyl, committed to UW recently. Here’s more on that story from the Arizona Republic.

— An interesting development today in the case of players who are suing the NCAA over their likenesses being used in video games and elsewhere, though I have no idea if this will amount to much.

— The Salt Lake Tribune reports the Utah marching band will also have to step up its game as the school enters the Pac-12.

All for now.
