Tuesday night links — Williams named MaxPreps.com Male Athlete of Year

Another big award today for incoming UW recruit Kasen Williams as he has been named as the MaxPreps.com Male Athlete of the Year.

Here’s the story. Williams has also been named as the Times’ boys athlete of the year for three years running and was the Parade Magazine Player of the Year, among numerous other accolades.

IN OTHER NEWS. …

— UW coach Steve Sarkisian was on ESPN 710 Seattle today. I missed it, but here’s a brief recap from the station’s web site. In case you’re forgotten, UW announced at the end of spring that the team captains for next year are Alameda Ta’amu, Cort Dennison, Jermaine Kearse and Senio Kelemete.

— Arcadia.Patch.com has more on today’s commitment of Taylor Lagace to UW.

— Arizona Daily Star columnist Greg Hansen, in his continuing review of the Pac-10, rates UW’s 1991 football team as the top overall team in conference history.

— UW has announced that the “Raise the Woof” celebration will be held Aug. 26.

All for now.
