Wednesday links — A potentially big loss for Arizona?

We’ll start with some disconcerting non-Husky news — rumblings that Arizona receiver Juron Criner could have a serious medical condition that could sideline him this year.

Criner’s pretty much the consensus pick as the top receiver in the conference heading into the season after deciding not to head to the NFL. He caught 82 passes for 1,233 yards and 11 touchdowns last season. Criner reportedly was at UW a few weeks ago, though nothing surfaced as to why.

Jon Wilner has a little more on what that could mean for Arizona’s chances in what is suddenly a pretty shaky looking Pac-12 South.

Obviously, though, the major focus here should be on Criner and his health

IN OTHER NEWS. …

— The Sporting News ranks Washington No. 57 among all college football teams. For the guy who wrote that there’s no way I’d post that because my blog is too “rah-rah,” note that I’d already written an entry on The Sporting News’ detailed writeup of UW, which forecasts the Huskies not to make a bowl this season. But thanks for reading, anyway.

— ESPN.com’s Ted Miller wraps up UW’s three commitments from Tuesday.

— Miller also has a video blog discussing UW’s defensive line.

— The Tennessean notes you can’t buy a Jake Locker Titans’ jersey yet because of the lockout.

— The Oregonian has a roundup of other Pac-12 news.

All for now.
