Tuesday links — Polk, Ta’amu make watch lists, and more

We’re back from a little Fourth of July break, full of links to pass along, the college football season now less than two months away. …

Chris Polk and Alameda Ta’amu were named to the watch lists today for the Maxwell and Bednarik awards, respectively. Here are details.

— In case you missed it, here’s a story I wrote for Monday’s paper on the company that produces the helmet cams that UW — and a few other teams — have begun using. The founders are UW grads.

— I answered a few questions from College Football Zealots for their preview of the Huskies.

— Top-rated CB Shaq Thompson told CBSSports.com over the weekend that no school is recruiting him harder at the moment than UW.
