UW coach Steve Sarkisian and the rest of the Pac-12 coaches have spent the past two days back east conducting a number of interviews with national media.
Included is this podcast of interviews with ESPN’s Ivan Maisel (Sarkisian comes on about 50 minutes in).
Among some of the things Sarkisian said:
— That while UW will feature its running game “we’re not going to wait until someone stops Chris Polk” to let Keith Price throw the ball. “We’re going to need Keith to make plays throwing the ball.”
— He talked about the defense and said “our defensive line is great” especially in the middle with Alameda Ta’amu.
— Asked about positions that are uncertain entering camp, he said “strong safety is one where somebody is going to have to step up. … we need our two outside linebacker spots answered. And on the offensive line just to solidify who we are, where they are going to play. … When we can do that I feel great about our football team.”
— He also talked about going back to Nebraska for a third time in 12 months and not playing UCLA this season.
