Monday links

A week from today, we’ll be waiting for the Huskies to hit the field. In the meantime. …

— UW’s single-game tickets went on sale today.

— ESPN.com’s Greg Biggins has an update on the recruitment of Mariner RB KeiVarae Russell Here’s the key quote: “Notre Dame, Cal and Washington are my favorites. Things could change, but I doubt it; and more than likely I’ll be committing to one of those three. I don’t have a leader among those three and there are actually things about each of those schools that stand out and make them unique.” Biggins also says the Huskies are also recruiting hard WR Jaydon Mickens of Dorsey High in Los Angeles. He was an early commit to USC but is now open. Said Mickens as quoted by Biggins: “Washington is definitely showing me the most love right now,” Mickens said. “I talk with (UW cornerbacks coach) Demetrice Martin and (UW) Coach Sark (Steve Sarkisian) all the time, and they really want me bad. They’re aggressive recruiters and I like them a lot there. I’m going to take my visits and I’ll visit UW for sure.”

— The Washington Times rates UW 45th in its countdown of every FBS team.

— ESPN.com’s Ted Miller with a bunch of links around the conference.

— Former Husky Olin Kreutz is on the verge of retiring.

— After it appeared he might not be back, Mark Brunell re-upped with the Jets over the weekend.

Matt Hasselbeck with some thoughts on working with Jake Locker in Tennessee.

— Like Locker, Mason Foster might have a famous ex-Seahawk to serve as a mentor if rumors that Tampa Bay is interested in Lofa Tatupu prove true.

D’Andre Goodwin mentioned in his Denver Post QB watch item.

— The Tucson Citizen offers a guide to the Pac-12’s bowl deals for this season.

— KSL.com quotes Sarkisian in a story about Pac-12 coaches saying they won’t overlook Utah. Why anyone thinks they would is a bit of a mystery to me, but it’s probably the stock story everyone will write in Utah until the season starts.

— The key to Utah’s hopes may be QB Jordan Wynn.

Jon Wilner looks at the rather limited expansion options for the Pac-12 going forward.

All for now.
