Video: Sarkisian talks after Thursday practice

The Huskies are off the field following Thursday’s practice, and afterward UW coach Steve Sarkisian confirmed that redshirt freshman Victor Burnett has been dismissed for a violation of team rules. There is no indication at the moment that it is do to anything legal.

Burnett redshirted last year after arriving in the spring of 2010 as an early enrollee and a signee in the first full class for Sarkisian. He did not see playing time last year and sat out as a redshirt. He was competing for a backup middle linebacker spot but was running fourth behind Cort Dennison, Thomas Tutogi and Tim Tucker.

Sarkisian also said that the school hopes to hear word from the NCAA Clearinghouse on the status of Marvin Hall and Kyle Lewis within a week, and hopefully also hear in that same time frame on whether JC transfer Antavius Sims will be allowed to enroll at UW.

There were no significant new injuries. I’ll have more from Sarkisian later. For now, here’s some video of his meeting with the media, including his comments on Burnett:
