Friday afternoon notes — Video, and practice underway

The Huskies are on the field for their first full-pads practice of the fall. No sign of any of the ineligible players having returned. I’ll have more on practice after practice.

For now, a few notes, including some video at the end of the placekickers at practice today. …

— The first of two shows on the Elite 11 Quarterback Competition airs tonight at 4 p.m. on ESPN. Included in that competition were UW commits Jeff Lindquist and Cyler Miles, which may be a good time to reprise a recent quote from recruiting analyst Tom Lemming, who told the Times that: “It’s surprising to me that two great quarterbacks like that would go to the same school, but it’s an embarrassment of riches for the Huskies.”

— A few of you have passed along this link to a furniture store commercial featuring Jake Locker. Here it is.

— CoachSark’s site has some info on the beginning of two-a-days tomorrow. Again, on the two-a-day days, only the night practice is open to the public and media so that’s why they aren’t listed on UW’s official fall camp practice schedule. But they aren’t practicing any less than in the past. Basically, every time there’s a night practice is a two-a-day with a closed practice earlier.

— Finally, here’s some video of the kickers warming up at the beginning of practice today. You can see the two batteries at work in this clip. Farther away is the starting battery of snapper Brendan Lopez, holder Cody Bruns and kicker Erik Folk. Nearer is the second-team battery of snapper Evan Hudson, holder William Chandler and kicker Eric Guttorp. Walk-on lineman Drew Schultz has also been doing some snapping.
