Wednesday links — Live chat at noon

I’ll start off with a note that I’ll hold our weekly live chat in this space today at noon, so join us then.

Now for some links. …

— My story for Wednesday’s paper focused on Hau’oli Jamora and the Hawaiian presence on the team. Also a note in there about Hawaii LB Aaron Brown, who went to high school in Puyallup.

Steve Kelley also comments on Steve Sarkisian’s tough talk of this week.

— Colorado coach Jon Embree raved yesterday about Hawaii QB Bryant Moniz, saying the Buffs were caught a little off-guard by his running, something he hadn’t done as much of last season. That should help the Huskies this week to at least be able to prepare better for that aspect of his game. Hawaii, by the way, will leave today and then practice in Seattle the next two days. The team is then staying heading to UNLV for a game there the following week, an 11-day trip overall.

— Interesting movement on the betting line in this game, which has gone from UW by 3 to UW by as much as 6.5. Someone believes in the Huskies this week.

— USA Today’s team page provides some good insight into the Buffs. Here’s the team page for UW.

— UW’s official site also writes about what the game means for the Hawaii natives on the team as well as the note that Thursday’s practice is closed to everyone.

— Obviously lots going on with expansion with Texas A&M’s move to the SEC seeming imminent. Jon Wilner writes, however, that Texas may not be coming to the Pac-12.

George Schroeder writes about what it might all mean for the Big 12.

Bud Withers writes about what was and wasn’t said during the Pac-12 teleconference Tuesday.

— ESPN.com’s Ted Miller calls this a “measuring stick” week in the Pac-12.

— Lots of Pac-12 links from Vince Grippi.

— Lots of Pac-12 notes from the LA Times.

— And more notes from the Arizona Daily Star.

— Those of you who think I have Boise State too low in my poll, consider Andy Staples of SI.com has them 12th.

— SI.com’s Don Banks predicts that ultimately, Jake Locker will be the best of this year’s rookie crop of quarterbacks.

— USA Today with a feature on Locker.

— Good story on C.J. Wallace’s road back to the NFL.

Olin Kreutz has 134 consecutive starts in the NFL, ninth on the active list.

All for now.
