Just a few hours now until what are promised to be new-look Huskies (who knows what all surprises the team may have in store today?) take the field for game two of this season. …
— Here’s my preview of the game, wrapping up some of the tone of the week and hitting on a few of the keys to the game — specifically, containing Bryant Moniz and getting some offense going. In terms of containing Moniz, a key player will obviously be the returning Quinton Richardson. And in terms of the offense, the key will be getting something from someone other than Chris Polk, which largely means getting the passing game going and completing a pass longer than 10 yards — something coaches made a priority this week in practice. I’d expect the Huskies to try to do that early, especially now that Jermaine Kearse is back.
— Our gameday plan, by the way, is to again host a live chat featuring all of us from the Times who are there covering the game. It’ll begin around 11 a.m. or so.

— Pac-12 commissioner Larry Scott repeated Friday what he’d said the day before in a live chat with the Seattle Times, that the preference of the conference is that there be no further expansion right now.
— The Pac-12 finally got a good non-conference win last night as Arizona State beat Missouri, though with former UW assistant Gary Pinkel calling some questionable timeouts at the end as his team lined up for a potentially game-winning field goal.
