A bit more from Sarkisian

Here’s a few more quotes from UW coach Steve Sarkisian’s press conference today”

On if the Huskies are better at defending the run than the pass: “When we’re right, yeah, I would say. Right now we’re really built to stop the run, the way we’re structured. But if we’re not right it’s not playing into our strengths and we learned that a year ago this time. When we weren’t right they gashed us and gashed us bad. So hopefully we can stay right and defend the run the way we’re capable of defending it.”

On Price’s knee: “Looks great, looks great. I’m not going to go and say he’s 100 percent yet but he looks great. He’s getting better, which hopefully will allow us to be able to do a few more things with him. We haven’t been able to utilize his legs much from a schematic standpoint. The stuff we’ve done when he’s running around has been his ability to run around and improvise on pass plays and different things. We’ll access how he goes this week but hopefully he’s a little bit better to where we can utilize his legs a little bit more.”

On Price throwing the ball away on the final possession instead of going to the ground and running the clock: “Once we talked about it he totally understands he gets it and he’ll learn from it. The next time that situation comes up he’ll fall down, he’ll slide and the clock will keep ticking. He’s a very quick learner that way. Keith, he rarely makes the same mistake twice and can really process things. When you talk about scenarios he can really process them and that’s a poor job of coaching on my part. We didn’t get him through that exact scenario but that’s part of playing with a young player and we’ll learn from it.”

On if revenge will matter Saturday: “No, it matters maybe for the fans in the build up, but at the end of the day the whistle is going to blow, we’re going to kickoff or they’re going to kickoff and we’re going to play football. I don’t think revenge plays a factor, it didn’t play a factor in the holiday bowl and I don’t think it’s going to play a factor in this game.”

On Nebraska’s running backs this year: “They had obviously, they had (Roy) Helu last year who was a big play guy and I think these young guys might have a big play ability like Helu but (Rex) Burkhead is playing at a really high level right now. It’s hard for them to take him off the football field right now. It would be hard, he’s a good football player. But the (Ameer) Abduallah kid, you’re seeing it in the kickoff return game, he’s an explosive guy.”

On if Semisi Tokolahi is ready to play: “Realisticallly, probably not. He’s just not quite there yet.”

On if the Huskies will be intimidated playing at Nebraska: “We weren’t intimidated the first time. Intimidation doesn’t have any factor on our football team ever. If we play the Cowboys we won’t be intimidated.”
