I’ll start with a reminder that I’ll again be on the Husky Roundtable Monday morning at roughly 8:20 a.m. on KJR-AM along with Mitch Levy, Hugh Millen and Chuck Nelson. And yes, one of these things definitely does not belong. …

— As noted here yesterday, UW’s points in the AP poll came from one ballot, that of Ray Ratto. Here’s hisballot with some brief explanations. .

After I asked if he had any additional thoughts on ranking UW where he did, Ratto sent me this note:

“I’m sure I have probably overvalued them, and I’ll be properly chastised after the Nebraska game, but the first two weeks of the season are the most volatile because AP asks us to judge only those games the teams have played this year, and a lot of that is based on the competition. I think the best team in the FCS can run with a lot of the FBS schools, which makes eastern Washington a good win, and I think Hawaii is a better than average team. There are better teams in my opinion that have played worse competition, like probably Arkansas, but I have to see them play against better teams before I have a useful gauge. That put Washington into a huge congealed blot with a lot of other teams, and I just came out with this. It looked funny when I put it down, but it’s Week 2, and nobody’s ballot will look remotely the same in Week 3 unless they just move teams up and down a few because they only want to spend a few minutes on it. If I’m wrong about Washington, I’ll know soon enough. If I’m not, I’m a genius, and Steve Sarkisian can begin sending me cars and jewels and deeds to homes in the Greater Seattle area. Seems only fair.”

— Here’s my story for the Monday paper setting up the week and the trip to Nebraska. Probably nobody who doesn’t realize the recent backstory on this one — it all feels a little like covering the NFL or something. But the “revenge” angle and all of that is unavoidable this week.

Jerry Brewer has this review of UW’s weekend.

— And Bud Withers offers this look at the weekend that was in the Pac-12.

— You can catch Sarkisian’s weekly press conference on UWTV today at noon.

— Big Red Today with some good stuff on how Fresno State exploited Nebraska’s defense, and rebuilt secondary, and how UW might do the same.

— You can watch Bo Pelini’s press conference this morning.

— The LA Times calls the UW-Nebraska game one of the top five to watch this weekend.

— columnist Steven Sipple says it’s time to temper expectations about Nebraska.

— An AP story details how Taylor Martinez is still learning on the job.

— This writer says UCLA should be expecting more.

Mason Foster made seven tackles in his NFL debut and Donald Butler had six for the Chargers.
