My Top 25

With the exhibition portion of the college football season now officially over, there’s lots of change in my Top 25 this week,

Specifically, I’ve got LSU at the top now after its win over West Virginia, which gives the Tigers what has to be considered the best resume in college football, having now beaten three ranked teams, two on the road and another on an officially neutral field.

Alabama, meanwhile, remains at No. 2 with what has to be considered the best defense in the country right now. Oklahoma fell after its sluggish win over Missouri.

I’ve have Oklahoma State higher than the rest all along and the Cowboys made me look good with their win over Texas A&M (though not before a few nervous moments along the way).

In terms of Pac-12 teams, Oregon’s loss to LSU begins to look a little better with each week, and the Ducks otherwise look like the team everyone thought (if maybe a little vulnerable in the back end). And I moved Arizona State back in the poll after its win over USC.

Here’s the rest of my ballot:

1, LSU
2, Alabama
3, Oklahoma
4, Oklahoma State
5, Stanford
6, Boise State
7, Wisconsin
8, Oregon
9, South Carolina
10, Clemson
11, Florida
12, Virginia Tech
13, Baylor
14, Nebraska
15, Texas A&M
16, West Virginia
17, South Florida
18, Texas
19, Arkansas
20, TCU
21, Michigan
22, Illinois
23, Arizona State
24, Georgia Tech
25, Florida State
