Monday morning links

We’ll start with our usual Monday reminder that I’ll be on the Husky Roundtable this morning around 8:20 a.m. on KJR-AM with host Mitch Levy and former Huskies Chuck Nelson and Hugh Millen.

— For our story for the Monday paper, I looked a little more at the defense and the contributions of some of the younger players.

— The Salt Lake Star-Tribune says Utah is eager to prove itself against Pac-12 competition.

— The Deseret News also has a few thoughts on the UW-Utah contest.

— The Deseret News also has five questions with Utah QB Jordan Wynn.

— Utah’s official site has some odds and ends on the Utes entering the UW game.

— A Utah fan blog has an early look at the UW-Utah game.

— A Cal blog wraps up some of Jeff Tedford’s thoughts about the last series.

Jon Wilner gives Cal a C-minus for the week.

Shaquille Thompson, rated the No. 1 safety prospect in the country, told Scout.com that he felt right at home at UW during his visit this weekend. He said UW and Cal remain “equals” at the top of his list.

Ted Miller moves UW up to fourth in his Pac-12 Power Rankings.

— Some interesting news and notes about college football from Jake Curtis.

— This is probably going to generate a lot of discussion — the Arizona Republic is launching a big series this week looking at the BCS.

In wrapping up news of former Huskies in the NFL:

Mason Foster had five tackles and a sack as Tampa Bay beat Atlanta; Donald Butler led the Chargers with eight tackles as they beat the Chiefs; and Dashon Goldson had eight tackles for the 49ers as they beat the Bengals.
