Time to post my Top 25, and I know the only question most of you reading this space will have is whether UW is in it.
Yes they are, at No. 24.
The reasoning, for those who will question it, is that I felt a fourth Pac-12 team was worthy. At that point, it became either UW or USC. At that point, a pretty clear divider was their common opponent game with Utah. USC had to go the last play to beat Utah at home. Washington obviously pretty much dominated Utah on the road.
We’ll find out tomorrow if UW is indeed ranked. It’s really not been that long since UW has been ranked, if you recall, as the Huskies snuck in at No. 24 after beating USC in 2009.
As for the rest of the poll, the top remained the same, though I moved Wisconsin to No. 5 after its rout of Nebraska.
It gets pretty interesting from No. 10 on as there were an awful lot of defeats, and a few new teams moved into my poll as a result, such as Kansas State and Houston.
Here’s the entire ballot:
4, Oklahoma State
7, Boise State
14, South Carolina
15, West Virginia
17, Virginia Tech
20, Kansas State
21, Arizona State
22, Georgia Tech
