Tuesday morning links — Price setting a high bar

One interesting thing Rivals.com does each week is rate the Top 25 players in the nation at each position.

In its quarterback ratings this week it has Keith Price at No. 15, ahead of some pretty big-name guys such as Taylor Martinez of Nebraska and Tyler Wilson of Arkansas.

And it also lists Price’s numbers against Utah — 22-30, three TDs — as a reason for inclusion. Indeed, those numbers ended up as the glittering stats UW fans have already come to expect from Price in just his fifth game as a full-time starter. Yet they also came in a game when Price and UW coach Steve Sarkisian each said he struggled for a half — and also had at least three passes dropped by his receivers.

It all speaks to an exceedingly high bar Price has already set at UW, but one that seems fair given what he has already done.

Rivals also has Chris Polk at No. 4 among running backs this week, Austin Seferian-Jenkins No. 7 at tight end, Senio Kelemete No. 23 among OLs, Desmond Trufant No. 13 among defensive backs, and Erik Folk No. 23 among special teams players.
