Tuesday links — Sarkisian remembers Al Davis, Stoops aftermath, and more

Lots out there today, so time to get right to it. …

— Here’s my notebook for the Tuesday paper, leading off with some of Steve Sarkisian’s memories of Al Davis.

— GoHuskies.com also wrote about the Sarkisian-Davis connection.

— ESPN.com’s Ted Miller is doing mid-season reviews for every Pac-12 team. Here’s Washington. (And here’s Colorado, UW’s opponent this week).

Jim Moore says Keith Price is the only reason he might secretly root for the Huskies, and includes some video of Price to prove it.

— Rivals.com has its updated player and coach rankings, and there’s not much change on the UW front with the Huskies off last week other than the addition of Steve Sarkisian to the list of coaches, at No. 24.

— The line is hovering at UW by 14.5 or 15.

Bud Withers asks if the firing of Mike Stoops cranks up the heat on Paul Wulff.

— The Denver Post reports that one of Colorado’s suspended players will be back this week, but that receiver Paul Richardson is definitely out.

— The Post also reports that the Buffs were “animated” in practice on Monday despite the 1-5 start.

— The Post also takes a look at the Huskies.

— The Boulder Daily Camera offers a mid-season review of Colorado.

— Here are some thoughts on where Arizona might turn now with Stoops gone. And one thought of my own — hard to recall a coach who went from the Top 10 to fired in one year for reasons solely related to performance on the field. One of the closest comparisons I can find? Jim Lambright, fired at UW after going 6-6 in 1998 after the 1997 team was ranked in the top five at the start of the season.

— Here’s a good take on what happened to Stoops from Greg Hansen.

— Oregon prepares for life without LaMichael James, though there’s no telling how long that may or may not be.

— Utah insists it’s not in over its head in the Pac-12, even if the Utes now have to play without quarterback Jordan Wynn for the rest of the season.

— A rundown of Oregon State news and Washington State, the latter of which this Saturday hosts Stanford, UW’s opponent next week.

— The Pac-12 title game will be on ESPN Radio.
