The NCAA is releasing updated graduation rates for all sports today — here is the overview from the NCAA itself, touting that the rates have never been higher.
As for UW’s football program, it is ahead of the average of both of the rates listed — you can see UW’s breakdown here.
UW’s GSR (the NCAA’s Graduation Success Rate which is explained in the link above) is 76, ahead of the overall NCAA average for football of 69. And UW’s Federal Rate of 69 is also ahead of the NCAA average of 56.
As you can see, the numbers are a four-year average for the classes of 2001-04, so the last three recruited by Rick Neuehisel and the only one signed by Keith Gilbertson.
Here are the results for the entire Pac-10 and it looks like UW is second in each number only to Stanford.
And it’s important to clarify that these are graduation rates and this is not the Academic Performance Rate, which is released in the spring and is the one for which penalties can be assessed for not hitting specific benchmarks.
